Malkajgiri Lok Sabha BJP candidate Eatala Rajender criticized CM A Revanth Reddy for using the issue of reservations to distract from his government’s failure to fulfill promises. Eatala expressed confidence in the BJP winning 12 LS seats in Telangana. He pointed out that the Congress had made several promises during the Assembly elections, but only delivered on free bus travel for women.
The government failed to fulfill promises such as providing Rs 2,500 for women, scooties for girl students, enhanced pension for the disabled and elderly, and Rs 1 lakh and one tola gold under Kalyana Lakshmi scheme. Eatala mentioned that farmers did not receive the promised Rs 15,000/acre under Rythu Bandhu. He accused the Congress of spreading lies against the BJP to divert attention from its failures.
Eatala highlighted the historical background of reservations, mentioning Sahu Maharaj’s pre-independence idea and Dr BR Ambedkar’s advocacy for reservations. He noted that the Congress had opposed reservations proposed by former PM VP Singh and ex-PM Rajiv Gandhi. Eatala emphasized that the BJP has always supported SCs, STs, and BCs, providing examples like creating a separate ministry for tribals during the Vajpayee government.
He criticized the Congress for spreading false propaganda against the BJP out of hatred and mentioned the BJP’s efforts to reduce inequalities through measures like providing reservations for economically weaker sections among upper castes. Eatala called on people from various constituencies to attend Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s meeting at Parade Grounds on May 5.
Overall, Eatala Rajender accused the CM of being worried about losing his position if Congress candidates do not win in the upcoming LS elections.
