    The District Election Officer and Collector, Dr B Gopi, inaugurated the District Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) and media centre in Karimnagar. The MCMC’s role is to monitor advertisements that are broadcast through various media platforms as part of the strict implementation of the Election Conduct of Conduct. This comes after the announcement of elections in the State.

    The inauguration was attended by the Collector, CP L Subbarayudu, and Additional Collector Lakshmi Kiran. During the event, it was mentioned that various departments have been established to ensure the election code of conduct is followed in the district.

    The committee members are responsible for checking paid news and political advertisements published by newspapers, television, and other media platforms. They will prepare reports on these broadcasts and advertisements and submit them to the election authorities. It is important to note that permission from the MCMC is required for advertisements.

    Several officials, including DRO (Incharge) Pawan Kumar, Assistant Director of Information Department Abdul Kalim, and Deputy Executive Information Engineer CH. Kondaiah, participated in the event.
