The Delhi Liquor case has been making headlines with new developments. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued summons to AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for the seventh time in connection with the money laundering case related to liquor. Kejriwal has not attended any of the hearings despite receiving multiple notices. The AAP party claims that sending notices for a hearing while the case is in court is illegal.

Kejriwal has expressed anger over the ED notices, calling them part of a conspiracy to arrest him. The ED has taken the matter to court after Kejriwal failed to appear for the hearing despite multiple notices. The court has allowed Kejriwal to attend further investigation proceedings through video conference, setting the next hearing for March 16. Meanwhile, the ED has issued another summons to Kejriwal.

In a separate development, BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has also been issued notices by the CBI in the same Delhi liquor case. Kavitha was questioned by CBI officials at her home in Hyderabad and has approached the Supreme Court seeking flexibility in the law for interrogation at home. The Supreme Court has adjourned the case to the 28th of this month.

Last year, on February 26, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia was arrested in connection with the same Delhi Liquor case. This year, on the same date, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has been summoned by both the ED and CBI. Kavitha, who is also involved in the case, will not have time to consult legal experts again regarding the CBI notices. It remains to be seen whether Kejriwal will attend the trial this time as per his statements to the court.
