Hyderabad: Akunuri Murali, the chairperson of the Telangana Education Commission, met with Dr. Yogita Rana, Secretary to the Education Department, on Friday. During the meeting, the Commission submitted a draft bill to regulate and monitor fees charged by private unaided schools in Telangana. This bill is set to be reviewed in 2025.

The draft bill was prepared after extensive discussions with various groups, including parents, teachers, private school managements (both aided and unaided), and civil society representatives. The collaboration aimed to ensure that all voices were heard before finalizing the proposal.

As part of the draft, the Commission suggested dividing private unaided schools into different categories. These categories are based on factors such as location, land availability, infrastructure, teacher qualifications, extracurricular activities, and facilities like libraries and laboratories.
