Hyderabad: The Vice-Chancellor of the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Prof Surabhi Bharati, praised the retired faculty member, Prof V Prakasam, for his contribution to Indian philosophy and spiritual literature. Prof Prakasam has written two books that enrich these fields.
Prof Surabhi Bharati was the chief guest at a special event held on the EFLU campus. During the event, she released Prof Prakasam’s two books: ‘Bhagavad Gita’ (translated from Sanskrit to English) and ‘Universal Wisdom Pearls of Divine Guidance’. She expressed hope that these books would help bring Indian philosophy and spirituality closer to English-speaking readers.
Prof Dimri, a well-known Sanskrit scholar, reviewed the book ‘Bhagavad Gita’. He noted that the translation from the original Sanskrit was a unique effort. Prof Veda Sharan reviewed ‘Universal Wisdom’ and highlighted that it emphasizes universal morality and wisdom. He mentioned that the book offers great spiritual insights and is essential for leading a practical life with necessary wisdom.
Prof Hemalatha Nagarajan, who hosted the event, also shared her thoughts on the books. Many senior faculty members, non-teaching staff, and retired staff of the university attended the event.
Prof Prakasam, the author, explained that his motivation for writing these books was to help readers navigate life’s complexities with knowledge and practical wisdom.
