    The Agniveers training for batch III started on Wednesday at 1 EME Centre in Secunderabad. A total of 1,319 Agniveers from the recruiting year 2023-24 began their basic military training at the EME Centre. This is the same place where Milkha Singh, also known as “India’s Flying Sikh,” underwent his basic military training.

    To mark the start of the training, a formal inaugural brief was organized at the centre. Important officials responsible for the training addressed the Agniveers and Brig. Suresh G, the commandant of EME Centre, gave a motivating speech to the new trainees. He emphasized the importance of integrity, loyalty, selfless service, mental and physical fitness, and knowledge of changing technology in becoming trained soldiers.

    The Agniveers were also informed about the readiness of the centre for conducting the training. They were told about the administrative facilities available for 10 weeks, as well as the technical and trade training that will take place at assigned institutions for 21 weeks and 14 weeks respectively.
