Eric Garcetti, Newly Appointed US Ambassador, Arrives in India to Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Eric Garcetti, who was nominated as the Ambassador to India over two years ago, has finally arrived in India. Garcetti received confirmation from the US Senate around a month ago and is considered a close aide of President Biden. He was elected as the 42nd Mayor of Los Angeles in 2013 and is known as a committed public servant, educator, and diplomat. The former Los Angeles mayor’s nomination was delayed due to concerns by some lawmakers about allegations of sexual assault and harassment against one of his aides. The US Embassy in India welcomed Garcetti and tweeted that they were thrilled to work with him to build stronger ties between the two nations.
