Hyderabad city police have arranged for a peaceful ‘Shobha Yatra’ on Srirama Navami on April 17. Commissioner of Police, K Sreenivasa Reddy, met with organizers and other officials to discuss the procession. They inspected the 6.3-km route from Seetharambagh to Hanuman Vyayamshala in Koti, passing through Dhoolpet and Begum Bazaar.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that the model code of conduct must be followed. This includes not using DJ systems, fireworks, throwing vermillion, carrying weapons, delivering provocative messages, or displaying offensive banners. The use of drone cameras is also not allowed without police permission.
Reddy highlighted the importance of security arrangements for the yatra and other related processions in the city. DCPs, ACPs, and SHOs were instructed to be vigilant, hold meetings with peace committees, repair CCTV cameras, monitor social media, and keep an eye on potential troublemakers. They were also told to set up checkpoints, conduct patrols, and respond quickly to any incidents.
Officials from various departments and members of the Bhagyanagar Sri Rama Navami Utsav Samithi were present at the meeting to coordinate efforts for a smooth procession.
