A tragic incident occurred at Sigachi Industries Pvt Ltd. in Sangareddy district when a reactor explosion resulted in the death of 12 workers. Families of employees were anxious and clashed with police while trying to access the site.
One family member, who also worked in the factory, shared, “I finished my night shift and then heard about the explosion. I couldn’t find my nephew initially, but later found him in the hospital where he was pronounced dead.”
Families are worried and urgently seeking information about their loved ones. Another person rushed from the city upon hearing the news. He mentioned, “My friend is being treated at Pranaam Hospital. He has internal injuries but is reportedly out of danger. We came from Bihar and he has worked here for six months.”
Officials warn that the death toll might increase since many workers are still trapped inside. At the explosion’s time, over 90 workers were in the facility. Those injured and hospitalized remain in critical condition.
