The Rythu Bandhu financial assistance for farmers has started in Telangana. On the first day, over 22 lakh farmers with less than one acre of land received Rs 642.52 crore directly in their bank accounts. The government has already released orders to give Rs 7,720.29 crore to around 70 lakh farmers for the Vaanakalam season of 2023-24. This year, the scheme will also benefit five lakh new beneficiaries, including 1.5 lakh Podu farmers with 4 lakh acres of Podu lands, who will receive Rs 10,000 per acre. This will cost the government about Rs 300 crore more than previous disbursements.

Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy advised farmers to follow the instructions of Agriculture officials to ensure a good income after the harvest season. Finance Minister T Harish Rao tweeted that the Rythu Bandhu festival had begun and lakhs of farmers would receive investment support from Monday. He also said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has prioritized the development and well-being of farmers, and that the government is committed to supporting them.
