Hyderabad: On May 6, a fan watching the IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings at Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad reported an incident involving a female bouncer. The fan, Gautam, claimed he was verbally abused by the bouncer while waiting in line for refreshments around 8:30 pm.
Gautam shared his experience on social media, explaining that the bouncer used abusive language to control the crowd. When he attempted to record the situation, she allegedly assaulted him, seized his phone, and tried to delete the video.
Stadium officials intervened after Gautam raised an alarm. The bouncer was stopped from leaving and brought back to Gautam, but she reportedly did not apologize.
Uppal Station House Officer, Y Ramalinga Reddy, confirmed that complaints were filed by both Gautam and the bouncer. “We are investigating both sides and will take the necessary action,” he stated. However, he did not confirm if any case had been registered.
A correction was later issued as an image of the bouncer was initially shared without blurring her face. The image was updated to blur her face, and the error was acknowledged.
