A heavy rainstorm hit Kodad in Suryapet district last night, causing major flooding. Many areas were affected, and life in the town came to a standstill.
Shirdi Sai Nagar and Ganesh Nagar were the hardest hit. Streets turned into streams as rainwater filled the area. The nearby Kodad Pedda Cheruvu overflowed, worsening the situation.
Gudibanda road also flooded, stopping traffic and worrying locals. In response, city officials broke the road divider to help water drain away and minimize damage.
Floodwaters from Kodad Pedda Cheruvu further inundated Shirdi Sai Nagar and Ganesh Nagar, worsening conditions. The Ananthagiri-Kodad main road was also flooded, disrupting transport on this important route.
Authorities remain vigilant, actively working to remove floodwater and support those affected. More rain is expected, so the situation is being closely watched.
