Foreign liquor and cash were found during searches at the homes of eight people suspected of acting as benamis in the disproportionate assets case involving suspended deputy superintendent of police Sankireddy Bheem Reddy, sources said.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted simultaneous searches at the suspected benamis’ residences in Puppalaguda as part of its investigation into properties allegedly linked to Bheem Reddy.
The searches were led by ACB DSP G Sridhar. Officials examined property documents, financial records and transactions to check for alleged links between the police officer and the suspected benamis.
ACB officials are also examining the liquor and cash recovered during the searches. The agency is checking whether the documents and financial transactions point to assets allegedly held through the suspected benamis.
The searches are part of a wider ACB probe into Bheem Reddy’s alleged disproportionate assets and benami holdings. The agency had earlier searched multiple locations linked to the officer, his relatives and suspected benamis, and is scrutinising documents and other evidence gathered during the searches, sources said.
