Four arrested in fake passports case, including three police officers

The Telangana Police’s CID has arrested four more people in a fake passport case. Three of them are Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs). This brings the total number of arrests in the case to 22, according to Additional Director General of Police, CID, Shikha Goel.

The individuals arrested include passport agent Koppisetti Kalyan, ASI Thippanna from Traffic Police Station in Maredpally, ASI Shaik Nazeer Basha from Panjagutta Traffic PS, and ASI Guntur Venkateshwarlu from SHE Team in Haka Bhavan, Hyderabad. They have been presented before a court.

The investigation is ongoing to gather evidence of the fraud and locate other suspects, said ADG Goel. It has been discovered that 95 passports were issued to illegal immigrants from Sri Lanka, and an additional 30 passports were issued using the same method, bringing the total to 125. This information has been shared with passport and immigration authorities for necessary action.

Overall, the police are working diligently to uncover more details and hold all involved parties accountable for their actions.
