Gadwal: Students at Zilla Parishad High School in Gattu Mandal have reached out to the Chief Minister through letters, seeking urgent help to fix their school’s infrastructure problems. This initiative is led by the Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU).
Haleem Pasha, the PDSU District President, highlighted the severe lack of basic facilities at the school. He mentioned that students endure harsh conditions without proper classrooms or shelter due to the education department’s neglect.
The school faces several issues: no clean drinking water, non-functional toilets forcing outdoor use, absence of a Physical Education (PT) teacher, and substandard midday meals. Students complain about being served undercooked rice and sambar daily, lacking nutritional variety.
These problems have persisted for two to three years. Despite raising concerns, officials have not addressed them, the students report.
Students, guided by PDSU, wrote to the Chief Minister, seeking immediate action. “We hope the CM can help us,” one student expressed.
Students and PDSU leaders demand the construction and repair of classrooms, provision of drinking water and sanitation, appointment of a PT teacher, and improvements in meals as per nutritional guidelines.
PDSU leaders Haleem Pasha, Venkatesh, Rafi, Shakeel, and others supported the students during this event.
