D Sudheer Reddy, the MLA of LB Nagar, believes in being a leader who spends time among the people. He has been personally visiting four to five colonies per day in his constituency for almost four decades. This practice of connecting with residents has been a routine for him since he was elected as the youngest Corporator in 1986.

During his three-hour walk from 4:30 am to 7:30 am, Sudheer Reddy listens to the grievances of the people at the grassroots level. Residents are informed in advance about his visits so they can meet him at specific locations within their neighborhoods. Another way he connects with the people is through ‘Basti Nidra’, where he stays for 24 hours with the residents to understand their issues firsthand.

Sudheer Reddy, a sexagenarian who values fitness, aims to provide standard amenities for his constituents aged from 8 to 80. He believes in developing playgrounds, parks, and other infrastructure to keep his voters healthy and fit. Amid the Coronavirus crisis, he emphasizes the importance of remaining physically active and holds job melas to encourage youth to seek employment rather than waiting for government jobs.

Despite rumors of returning to the Congress party, Sudheer Reddy remains loyal to TRS (now BRS) and is optimistic about the party’s future. He attributes the recent defeat of BRS in the Lok Sabha polls to national-level political polarization between NDA and INDIA blocs. Sudheer Reddy mentions other regional leaders like YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Naveen Patnaik, and Mayawati who have remained independent of national alliances and faced similar electoral setbacks.
