    Special Eye Screening Camp for Government School Students in Nagar Kurnool

    A special eye screening camp has been launched at the Government General Hospital in Nagar Kurnool to help students with vision problems. This initiative follows the Telangana State Government’s directives and was inaugurated by the hospital’s Superintendent, Dr. R. Raghu. The camp aims to provide proper eye care for government school students who have vision impairments.

    Dr. Raghu shared that under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) last year, a total of 50,780 students from government schools and colleges across the district underwent eye screenings. Out of these, 1,893 students were found to have vision issues. To support them, special eye screening camps will be held at government hospitals in Nagar Kurnool and Achampet constituencies from Monday until March 5.

    Students diagnosed with vision problems will undergo further evaluation by expert ophthalmologists. Those in need will receive free prescription glasses to improve their eyesight. This initiative ensures that students get the necessary support to overcome vision challenges and continue their education without difficulties.

    Several healthcare professionals attended the event, including Deputy DMHO Venkata Dasu, RMOs Ravi Shankar, Dasharatham, and Rohit. Senior ophthalmologist Dr. Shailaja, RBSK doctors Dr. Akbaruddin, Dr. Naveen, Dr. Suresh, and Dr. Mahathi were also present. Additionally, optometry assistants Venkata Swamy and Vijay Kumar, pharmacist Lakshminarayana, and health assistant Yadagiri participated in the program.
