The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has taken action against Pratima Hospital in Kachiguda for not paying property taxes. On Thursday, GHMC officials seized the hospital due to unpaid tax dues of over ₹37.35 lakh, which had accumulated over the last two years.

A team from GHMC visited the hospital and issued a notice before proceeding with the seizure. Officials stated that despite multiple warnings since October 2022, the hospital failed to clear its outstanding taxes by March 2025.

As part of the action, GHMC took control of the hospital’s assets, including computers, laptops, furniture, and other equipment. The hospital staff was also asked to vacate the premises, which caused concern among employees. Additionally, the administrative office was sealed, and posters were put up to indicate the seizure.

This move is part of GHMC’s larger effort to recover unpaid property taxes from defaulters across Hyderabad. Last month, GHMC also seized the well-known Taj Banjara Hotel for failing to pay over ₹1.40 crore in property taxes. Despite multiple notices, the hotel management did not clear the dues, leading to the strict action.
