The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has announced important changes to its building registration system following the merger of 27 adjoining Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) into GHMC.
The civic body has made necessary modifications to the Instant Registration and Instant Approval applications in the BuildNow app, which are now live and ready for use.
According to an official statement from the Commissioner of GHMC, all new applications can now be submitted through the updated BuildNow platform. The applications will be processed by the newly re-designated GHMC circles, which were previously the 27 ULBs.
The merger follows government orders aimed at expanding the administrative reach of GHMC and streamlining civic services across the greater Hyderabad region.
The BuildNow app, which facilitates quick building plan approvals and registrations, has been updated to reflect the new administrative structure. Citizens can continue to use both Instant Registration and Instant Approval features without any disruption.
In a significant clarification, the GHMC Commissioner stated that applications already submitted before the merger will not be affected. These pending applications will also be processed by the newly re-designated GHMC circles following the existing procedures.
The 27 ULBs that have been merged into GHMC will now function as re-designated circles within the expanded corporation structure. This administrative reorganization is expected to bring uniformity in service delivery and building approval processes across the region.
The existing process for application submission and approval remains unchanged, ensuring continuity for citizens and developers. The modifications to the app are primarily administrative, reflecting the new organizational structure.
This development marks a significant step in the expansion of GHMC’s jurisdiction and its digital governance initiatives. The BuildNow app has been a key tool in simplifying building approval processes and reducing bureaucratic delays.
The GHMC has assured that all stakeholders, including property owners, builders, and architects, can continue their work without any procedural complications during this transition period.
The Commissioner’s announcement emphasized that the changes are in accordance with government orders and aim to provide seamless service to citizens across the expanded GHMC area.
