GHMC’s New WhatsApp Complaint Number Faces Technical Issues, Citizens Report Wrong Category Registration

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recently launched an official WhatsApp complaint number (8125966586) to make it easier for citizens to report civic issues. However, the service is experiencing significant technical problems that are causing complaints to be registered under wrong categories, leaving residents frustrated.

Citizens who have tried to use the new WhatsApp service are reporting that their complaints are being incorrectly categorized in the system. When residents send complaints about garbage not being picked up, the issues are being wrongly registered as road repairs or pothole complaints in the MyCure app, formerly known as the My GHMC app.

The technical glitches have raised serious concerns about the implementation quality of the new digital complaint system. The mismatch between the actual complaint and what gets registered in the official system means that civic issues may not reach the appropriate departments for resolution, defeating the entire purpose of the initiative.

The GHMC web development team is facing criticism for not properly testing and implementing the WhatsApp integration with the existing complaint management system. The timing of these technical failures is particularly problematic as the WhatsApp complaint number was widely promoted across social media platforms just days before the issues came to light.

The new complaint number had been circulated extensively through residential society groups and various social media channels, encouraging citizens to use this convenient method for reporting civic problems. Many residents have already started using the service, only to discover that their complaints are being misrouted due to the technical bugs.

Citizens are now calling on GHMC to urgently address and fix these technical issues to ensure the complaint system functions as intended. The municipal corporation has not yet issued an official statement regarding the problems or provided a timeline for when the bugs will be resolved.

  1. Raised a complaint at 6.30AM for picking garbage ,in my complex. The complaint number is 805265859496. By 11 AM the same got cleared.

    A big thanks to the persons who attended the compliant quickly and cleared the place by 10.30.

    Really a wonderful experience.
