Gold and silver prices, which had been steadily declining in February, unexpectedly surged on Saturday, surprising buyers. The price of 24-carat gold for 10 grams decreased by ₹2,890 and is now at ₹1,56,600. Meanwhile, the price for 10 grams of 22-carat gold fell by ₹2,650, settling at ₹1,43,550.
Silver prices, which had seen a significant drop, showed some recovery on Saturday. The price for a kilogram of silver increased by ₹5,000, reaching ₹2,85,000 in the bullion market. However, experts suggest it may take some time before it reaches the all-time high of ₹4,25,000 recorded on January 29.
Experts predict a surge in gold and silver purchases in India as auspicious events begin on February 18, coupled with the upcoming Lunar New Year celebrations in China.
