Gold and silver prices have fallen sharply since the Dussehra festival ended. The drop has brought more customers to jewellery stores since the start of this week.
Many people in the Telugu states traditionally buy gold and silver for Diwali. Buyers planning such purchases can now check the reduced retail rates in their cities before they shop.
On October 23, the price of 24-carat gold fell by Rs 190 per gram. Pure gold now sells at Rs 14,248 per gram in Hyderabad, Warangal, Nizamabad, Khammam, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Kadapa.
In the same cities, 22-carat gold is priced at Rs 13,060 per gram.
Silver prices also declined on Friday, October 23, 2026. The rate dropped by Rs 5,000 per kilogram across the country, taking the fall to Rs 20,000 per kilogram over the last three days. Pure silver now costs Rs 2,20,000 per kilogram, or about Rs 220 per gram, in major cities of both Telugu states, including Hyderabad, Warangal, Nizamabad, Khammam, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Kadapa.
