Residents Oppose Hospital Construction in Goshamahal Stadium

Leaders from various political parties in Goshamahal, under the Goshamahal Welfare Association, have come together to oppose the proposed construction of a new Osmania Hospital at the Goshamahal stadium. They submitted a formal request to the District Collector, urging a reconsideration of the plan.

The delegation, led by BJP leader D. Gopalji, met with the Collector, accompanied by local residents. They suggested relocating the hospital to its old premises or another suitable location. According to Gopalji, the densely populated area surrounding the stadium would face several problems if the hospital is built there.

One major concern raised was water scarcity. Gopalji explained that the large population in the area could struggle with water shortages if the hospital is constructed. He also highlighted that Goshamahal is already a crowded area, making the proposed construction less viable.

Residents pointed out another issue: the lack of open spaces within a five-kilometer radius of the area. The stadium currently serves as an important recreational space for youth and children, offering facilities for sports and amusement. Demolishing the stadium for the hospital would deprive them of these opportunities.

Senior citizens also voiced their concerns, as the stadium is a popular spot for morning and evening walks. Losing this space would leave them without a safe and accessible area for exercise and socializing.

Additionally, the residents emphasized the environmental impact of the proposal. The stadium area is home to several large trees, which provide fresh air and shade. Cutting down these trees to make way for the hospital would disrupt the environmental balance in the locality.

The residents and leaders have urged the authorities to consider these challenges and find a more suitable location for the hospital to benefit the community without harming the existing environment and facilities.
