In Hyderabad, there’s buzz about the upcoming Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee’s meeting on August 23. The focus is on a plan to proceed with local body elections. The High Court has directed the government to finish the election process by the end of September. The party has been proud of its efforts to secure a 42% BC reservation and seems ready to support the election proposal.

Insiders say the current ruling party doesn’t want to delay the elections any longer. These elections are crucial for the Congress. Party leaders in various districts have been told to complete all development projects and ceremonies by the weekend. “The election code will soon prevent any new activities,” stated a senior leader.

The local body elections have faced delays for numerous reasons, most recently due to the push for a 42% quota for BCs. Bills related to this reservation are waiting for the President’s approval, and the party might implement the quota internally if needed.
