Ration card beneficiaries in Telangana are calling on the new State government to investigate the deletion of their cards without proper verification. In 2019 alone, over 1,06,818 ration cards were rejected without any field inspections. This has led to the exclusion and deprivation of underprivileged individuals from their right to food. Social activists and beneficiaries are urging the government to address these issues and ensure that the use of technology in managing ration cards does not unintentionally harm vulnerable populations.
