Hyderabad: Government Whip Aadi Srinivas has said that BRS leader Chennamaneni Ramesh should not be called a former MLA. This comes after the High Court ruled that Ramesh is a German citizen. Srinivas, who is the current MLA of Vemulawada, wants the court to make Ramesh return the salary and allowances he received while serving as an MLA.
The ruling is a big blow to the BRS party. The High Court made its decision after Aadi Srinivas filed a case questioning Ramesh’s citizenship status. The court agreed with Srinivas and confirmed that Ramesh is not an Indian citizen.
Srinivas told reporters that this might be the first time in the world a non-citizen became an MLA. He said Ramesh gave false information and used a German passport. Srinivas believes that if Ramesh hadn’t run in the election, he would have become the MLA ten years ago.
He also said he has asked the police to take legal action against Ramesh. He hopes the CID will investigate the matter and register a case. Srinivas wants all decisions made by Ramesh as an MLA to be canceled. He added that no one in the country should face injustice.
