Hyderabad: Union Minister and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy has strongly criticized the Congress and BRS parties. He accused them of working together to hand over control of Hyderabad—and possibly all of Telangana—to the Majlis party (AIMIM).

Speaking to the media on Monday, Reddy said that under the previous BRS government, AIMIM leaders used to visit the Chief Minister’s residence, Pragathi Bhavan, with heavy security. Now, he claimed, they are visiting Congress leaders in the same way. He said both the Congress and BRS are acting like puppets for the Majlis party.

He warned the people of Telangana to stay alert and not allow the Majlis to dominate the state again. Referring to the past, he reminded citizens of the oppression faced during the rule of the Nizam and the violence by the Razakars. He urged the public to understand and expose what he called the true nature of Congress, BRS, and the Majlis.

Kishan Reddy said that in the current elections, only the BJP and the Majlis are actively fielding candidates. He accused the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS of indirectly supporting the Majlis by not contesting seriously in the Legislative Council elections, which he said only helps the Majlis win.

He also alleged that the BRS is threatening its own corporators to stop them from voting, which he said undermines the rights of the people who elected them. Reddy criticized both the Congress and BRS for trying to split the anti-Majlis vote, allowing the Majlis party to keep winning.

Reddy questioned how Congress and BRS could claim to be secular while working with the Majlis, which he said has a religious agenda and historical ties to the Razakars. He brought up past violence allegedly linked to the Majlis party, including the killing of 400 Dalits in Teegalukunda, as claimed by former minister Sarojini Pullareddy.

He accused Congress and BRS of putting politics above principles by siding with the Majlis. Reddy said the people of Hyderabad have already shown in past elections that they do not support the Majlis.

He said that by threatening corporators, the BRS is going against the will of the people of Greater Hyderabad. He called on those who oppose attacks on Hindu festivals and deities to question any support given to the Majlis, which he believes poses a threat to national unity. He said the Congress and BRS owe the people of Telangana an explanation.

Reddy also challenged the BRS, asking why they are pressuring their corporators not to vote. He suggested this shows a lack of trust in their own members. As the Hyderabad local body elections near, Reddy said BJP corporators, MPs, MLCs, and MLAs have united. He concluded by mentioning that BJP candidate Gautam Rao has already met with voters and is seeking support in a democratic way.
