Nagar Kurnool District Collector Badavath Santosh and other officials paid tribute to Telangana leader Konda Laxman Bapuji on his 109th birth anniversary. The event took place at the Nagar Kurnool District Collectorate on Friday. They honored Bapuji by garlanding his portrait.
During the ceremony, the Collector spoke about Bapuji’s contributions. He described Bapuji as one of the first leaders to oppose the Nizam’s rule. Bapuji even resigned from his ministerial post to support the cause of Telangana. The Collector emphasized how Bapuji dedicated his life to helping marginalized communities and praised him as an inspiration to others.
The Telangana government also recognized Bapuji’s legacy by naming the Konda Laxman Telangana Horticultural University after him. The Collector reminded everyone that the government holds these celebrations each year to honor his memory.
Other officials and community leaders were present at the event. Attendees included Nagar Kurnool Municipal Chairperson Kalpana, District BC Welfare Officer Khaja Nazim Ali Apsar, PD DRDA Chinna Obulesu, and leaders from the Padmashali Sangham, among others. Members of the press and various officials also attended the ceremony.
