Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan has highlighted the significance of ‘Raksha Bandhan’ as a special occasion celebrated across India, where sisters tie Rakhis to their brothers, seeking their protection and blessings. The Governor emphasized the importance of sisters also showing love and affection towards their brothers. She mentioned that celebrating such occasions strengthens family bonds and extended her wishes for peace and happiness to the people of Telangana.

Dr Tamilisai actively participated in the “Rakhi for Soldiers” event held at Raj Bhavan. The event was organized by Samskruti Foundation in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS). The main objective of this program is to foster a meaningful exchange by allowing students to tie Rakhis to esteemed military officers, thereby celebrating the spirit of guardianship and patriotism. This interaction aims to leave a lasting impression on the students, reminding them of their responsibilities as future custodians of our nation’s heritage.

The Governor expressed her pride in celebrating Raksha Bandhan with soldiers for the first time at Raj Bhavan. She emphasized the need to appreciate and honor their sacrifices regularly and acknowledged the presence of the young generation at the event.
