On the auspicious occasion of Bhadrapada Masam Chavithi, special pujas were performed at the village of Nandi Vaddeman in Bijnapally Mandal. The rituals, known as Til (sesame) oil Abhishekam, were conducted for Sri Shani Swamy, accompanied by Jyeshta Mata.
The chief priest, Dr. Gavamatham Vishwanatha Shastri, explained that many devotees from different regions came to offer their prayers to Lord Shani. They performed the Abhishekam with Ashtottara Namavali, which involves chanting 108 names of the deity. The priest mentioned that worshipping Lord Shani with sesame oil, jilledu flowers, jilledu leaves, and jammi leaves is believed to help remove planetary doshas (afflictions) and bring peace.
In addition to the Shani puja, Rudrabhishekam was performed for Lord Shiva. This ritual is significant as Lord Shiva is closely connected with the Brahma Sutra. Special prayers were also offered to Lord Ganesha and Nandi Swamy during the event.
After the rituals, devotees received Vedic blessings, and prasadam (holy offering) was distributed. The event saw participation from several temple officials and community members, including Temple Chairman V. Gopal Rao, committee members Veerashekar, Prabhakar, Pullayya, priests Gavamatham Shanti Kumar and Umamaheshwar, as well as staff member Gopal Reddy. A large number of devotees, including women, took part in the sacred occasion.
