Hyderabad: Health Minister T Harish Rao stated on Thursday that the BRS party is the only party that turns slogans into realities, unlike the Congress and BJP who are just parties of slogans. He inaugurated the AYUSH Integrated Wellness Centre in NIMS, which offers various medical systems such as Ayurveda, Unani, Homeopathy, Siddha, and Naturopathy. This is the first center of its kind in the state.

The minister mentioned that state-of-the-art facilities have been provided at the NIMS wellness center for Ayurvedic and naturopathic procedures and treatments under the guidance of expert AYUSH doctors. Retired civil and government servants, as well as current staff, are receiving treatment at the center.

The government is promoting AYUSH alongside allopathic medicine. The nature cure hospital was recently developed with Rs 10 crore, and Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari has shown keen interest in it. The state currently has 834 AYUSH dispensaries, five colleges, and four research hospitals. Additionally, new 50-bed AYUSH hospitals are being constructed in Vikarabad, Bhupalpally, and Siddipet. The health sector has been developing since the formation of the state.

Classes will begin in nine more medical colleges in the second week of next month, and the counseling process is in its final stage. The program will be conducted on a single day from a single platform by the CM, which will increase the number of government medical colleges from five to 26. This will result in 900 new MBBS seats being available, an increase of 3,915 seats from 2014. In other words, there are now six times more seats available for MBBS studies.
