Haryana Governor Stresses the Importance of Teaching in Native Languages
Tirupati/Hyderabad: Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya has highlighted the significance of teaching students in their native languages as outlined in the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He urged the Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to take active steps toward implementing this policy fully.
The Governor made these remarks after offering prayers at Lord Venkateshwara’s temple in Tirumala on the occasion of Vaikunta Ekadasi. Speaking to the media, he shared that the darshan of the Lord brought him peace, spirituality, and happiness. He also prayed for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking divine blessings to help successfully implement the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ vision.

Vaikunta Ekadasi and Its Spiritual Significance
The Governor explained the significance of Vaikunta Ekadasi, stating that devotees believe entering the Vaikunta Dwara (the celestial gateway) on this auspicious day can help them break free from the cycle of rebirth and attain Moksha (liberation). This belief draws thousands of pilgrims to the temple, seeking a divine and transformative experience.

Preserving Culture and Passing It to the Youth
Governor Dattatraya also emphasized the need to protect India’s rich culture, traditions, and rituals with dedication and faith. While the older generations have worked hard to preserve these practices, he stressed that it is equally crucial for the younger generations to carry them forward.
He pointed to ancient texts like the Ramayana, Mahabharata, Vedas, Gita, and Puranas as invaluable sources of knowledge on dharma, morals, and ethics. The Governor believes these texts serve as a guide for leading a virtuous life.

Simplifying Ancient Texts for Students
While Sanskrit is the ideal language to study these ancient scriptures, the Governor acknowledged that not everyone finds it easy to understand. To address this, he suggested that simplified versions of these texts be taught to school students in their native languages. This would make the wisdom of these scriptures accessible to children and ensure that cultural heritage is preserved through education.
