Speaking at the event, the Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening public healthcare. He announced plans to set up trauma care centers every 30 kilometers to assist accident victims. Devarakadra will also benefit from one of these specialized centers.

The Minister shared that the government recruited approximately 8,000 healthcare workers in the past year to enhance medical services. Public hospitals are being equipped with essential facilities, including medicines, surgical tools, and diagnostic equipment, to ensure better care for everyone.

To address the rising demand for dialysis, 18 new centers were established last year, and additional centers with 10 machines each have been approved for Devarakadra and Makthal.

The Minister also spoke firmly about tackling malpractice in private hospitals, such as illegal organ transplants. He assured the public that strict action would be taken to protect patients’ rights and ensure their safety.
