Heavy Rain Floods Secunderabad: Students Trapped, Roads Closed

Secunderabad experienced intense rainfall on the evening of July 18. The downpour lasted for an hour, turning roads into streams. Strong winds knocked down trees, causing power outages and halting daily activities in several areas.

Students Trapped at School

At St. Francis School in Secunderabad, water rose to knee level. The school kept students inside for safety reasons. Eventually, parents and auto drivers arrived to escort them home, posing challenges for young children.

Flooding in Hyderabad

Flooding affected other parts of Hyderabad as well. Areas like Sai Baba Colony, Seetharampuram, Harshavardhan Colony, Ram Reddy Colony, and Srinivas Nagar in Boinpally were inundated. Roads resembled ponds, making it difficult for people to move around.

Community Efforts During Flood

Residents found themselves trapped due to high water levels. Cleaning staff from the cantonment area assisted people in reaching their homes. Despite the help, many faced hardships because of the rain and flooding.
