A Jagan, president of the Telangana High Court Advocates’ Association, expressed deep sorrow over her passing.

Justice Priyadarsini had a strong academic background. She earned three postgraduate degrees—MA in Sociology, MA in Public Administration, and MA in Political Science—from Andhra University. She then completed a three-year law course at NBM Law College, Visakhapatnam, in 1995, followed by an LLM in Labour and Industrial Law from Andhra University in 1997. She stood first in Constitutional Law, achieving the highest marks in the subject.

In September 1995, she registered as an advocate with the Bar Council of Andhra Pradesh. She began her legal career in the office of P Uma Bala, where she worked for about seven years. Over the next decade, she practiced in Visakhapatnam, handling a wide range of cases—civil, criminal, labour law, and matrimonial. She also represented clients in pro bono cases referred by the District Legal Services Authority.

Her judicial career began on November 3, 2008, when she was appointed as an Additional District Judge through direct recruitment. She served in various districts when Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were one state. She worked as Principal District Judge in Ongole from August 2016 to December 2018, then in Adilabad from January 2019 to October 2020, and in Karimnagar from October 2020 to March 2022.

Justice Priyadarsini was promoted to the Telangana High Court and officially took oath as a High Court judge on March 24, 2022. She was the 16th most senior judge in the court and was expected to retire in 2026.

Her death marks a significant loss to the legal community in Telangana.
