Residents of Hyderabad are heading back to their hometowns to vote in the upcoming election. This has caused heavy traffic on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada highway.

The traffic congestion started on Saturday as people in their own vehicles traveled towards Rajamahendravaram and Visakhapatnam via Vijayawada. The flow of vehicles from Hayatnagar to Abdullahpurmet has been disrupted, with long lines at toll stations in Chautuppal and Pantangi.

With the weekend approaching and polling day getting closer, the traffic situation is expected to get worse. Authorities are advising commuters to plan their journeys carefully and consider taking alternative routes to avoid the congestion.
