Congress leaders in Mahabubnagar are trying hard to bring members of other parties into the fold as they prepare for the upcoming Parliament elections. However, there is resistance from local leaders in Nagarkurnool and Mahabubnagar constituencies. Many Congress leaders and MLAs are against the idea of including leaders from other parties in their ranks, making it difficult for party coordinators to unite everyone.
In Achampet, for example, local MLA and other leaders are strongly against bringing in prominent figures from BJP or BRS into the Congress party. This resistance is hindering the party’s grassroots strategy. AICC observer Ramesh Reddy acknowledges the challenge of convincing existing Congress members to accept newcomers, as they fear being overshadowed.
Local Congress leaders believe they can succeed in the elections without support from other parties, but the reality is different. The BJP is gaining support, posing a tough competition for the Congress. Analysts warn that if local leaders are not coordinated effectively, it could harm the party’s chances in the elections.
It is crucial for the Congress to strengthen its base and navigate the political landscape of Palamuru region effectively to ensure success in the upcoming elections.
