The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) conducted a highly successful e-auction for residential plots in Mokila, generating a total revenue of ₹231 crore. The two-day auction event witnessed strong participation from homebuyers and investors, with 100 residential plots going under the hammer. The auction was structured with 50 plots being auctioned each day, creating a competitive bidding environment that reflected the robust demand for residential properties in the region.
The bidding activity exceeded expectations, with the highest bid reaching ₹1.09 lakh per square yard, which is more than double the upset price of ₹50,000 per square yard. The average bid across all plots stood at ₹75,640 per square yard, demonstrating the premium buyers were willing to pay for well-located residential plots. This significant jump from the base price indicates the strong market sentiment and the perceived value of the Mokila location among prospective homeowners and real estate investors.
The overwhelming response to the auction reflects the growing confidence in Hyderabad’s real estate market, which continues to attract both end-users and investors. The demand for well-planned residential communities has been steadily increasing as the city expands and develops new infrastructure. HMDA has been actively developing residential layouts in various parts of the city to meet the growing housing needs of the population and provide quality living spaces with proper amenities and infrastructure.
Hyderabad has emerged as one of India’s most preferred destinations for investment and urban growth, driven by its thriving information technology sector, improving infrastructure, and quality of life. The city’s real estate market has shown resilience and steady growth, with planned residential developments attracting significant interest from buyers. The success of the Mokila e-auction adds to the series of successful land auctions conducted by HMDA in recent times, reinforcing the city’s position as a growing metropolitan hub.
