Hyderabad: On Friday, NVS Reddy, the Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited and Hyderabad Airport Metro Ltd (HAML), clarified that there is no High Court stay order stopping metro rail work in the Old City. He addressed rumors by confirming that the reports are false and misleading.

Reddy explained that demolishing affected structures is moving quickly. Property owners are receiving generous compensation, mainly through consent awards. He mentioned that, in response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) by Act Public Welfare Foundation (APWF), HAML informed the High Court that no heritage structures in the Old City are being demolished. The Metro Rail is planned to be far from the Charminar Falaknuma area.
