The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has won several awards for its beautiful gardens. It received eight Gold Garden awards and a Rolling Trophy in the ‘Best Landscape Garden’ category. These awards were given at the Garden Festival-2024, which was organized by the Telangana Horticulture Department.
HMRL has been winning multiple awards for its gardens for the past six years. The Rolling Trophy was presented to HMRL at a function held at Public Gardens. The Director of Horticulture, Shaik Yasmeen Basha, handed over the award.
The award was received by Sainath Sunkara, the Senior Horticulture Officer of Hyderabad Metro Rail, on February 4.
NVS Reddy, the Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail, said that the metro won these awards for the greenery at metro stations and rooftop gardens. He also mentioned that they plan to add more greenery under the metro viaducts and plant more trees along all metro corridors.
