Husband receives death penalty for mercilessly killing his spouse

A man in Hyderabad has been sentenced to death by a court for brutally murdering his wife. The accused, Imran ul Haq, was found guilty and given the death penalty along with a fine of Rs 10,000. The verdict was issued by Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge CV S Saibhupathi.

The incident took place in January 2019 when Imran, who worked as a car driver, asked his wife for Rs 30,000 to buy a car. When she refused, he violently attacked her. He stabbed her in the throat with a pair of scissors and hit her on the head with a hammer. He also inserted a screwdriver into her private parts, causing her death instantly. After committing the crime, the accused fled from the scene.

The police registered a case against Imran under various sections and arrested him. He was then presented in court. After a lengthy trial, the court found Imran guilty and handed down the death penalty as the punishment for his horrific crime.
