    Confusion over counting as AP receives record 5,39,189 postal ballots

    The ECI has started counting arrangements for the record number of 5,39,189 postal ballot votes in Andhra Pradesh.

    The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that there will be heavy rains in Telangana, including Hyderabad, on Thursday and Friday. This is because of a surface circulation in the Bay of Bengal. There is a yellow alert for rain with thunder and lightning. Andhra Pradesh and Coastal districts are also expected to experience rain.

    In other news, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab are facing floods due to heavy rain. The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh stated that over Rs.10 thousand crores worth of property has been damaged and it will take more than a year to recover. Punjab’s Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur, and Rupnagar districts are also affected by floods. The National Disaster Response Force, Army, and BSF teams are conducting rescue operations in these areas.
