The Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) searched Donthireddy Vasudeva Reddy’s home in Nanakramguda. They are looking at important papers related to claims that he helped manipulate the liquor trade in favor of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government.

Vasudeva Reddy, the former managing director of Andhra Pradesh State Beverages Corporation Limited (APSBCL), is under scrutiny for allegedly benefiting the YSRCP government by crores over the last five years. The CID officials are examining crucial documents at his residence to get more information on these allegations.

Vasudeva Reddy was transferred from his position as APSBCL MD on April 17 by the Election Commission of India (ECI). This happened after complaints were filed by D Purandeswari and K Atchannaidu, state presidents of the BJP and TDP. They accused APSBCL of illegally aiding the YSRCP government with the liquor trade.
