Medical officials have stepped up checks on hospitals accused of cheating the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Some hospitals were found sending fake bills to get money from the fund, and strict actions are now being taken.
On Tuesday, April 22, health teams carried out raids at several hospitals in the Meerpet Municipal Corporation area of the Rangareddy district. These raids followed complaints that some hospitals were misusing the relief fund by submitting false medical bills.
One of the hospitals involved, Hiranya Multi Speciality Hospital at Balapur Crossroads, was shut down by health authorities. Officials said they had received several complaints over time about the hospital being involved in corrupt practices.
After investigating the matter, the Health Department decided to take action. The hospital was sealed by District Medical Officer Venkateswara Rao, Deputy District Medical Officer Geetha, and other officials. The investigation into the misuse of funds is still ongoing.
