Owner of Lakshmi Srinivasa Constructions Arrested at Hyderabad Airport

Authorities at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) detained P. Vijaya Lakshmi, the owner of Lakshmi Srinivasa Constructions, on Thursday. She was reportedly trying to leave the country when she was stopped. Dundigal police took her into custody in connection with several cases involving unauthorized villa constructions in Mallampet.

Vijaya Lakshmi is accused of land encroachment, with multiple criminal cases already filed against her. Officials revealed that she had been avoiding arrest after the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) demolished illegally built villas following complaints from affected residents.

Early Thursday morning, she arrived at RGIA to board a flight to the United States. However, immigration officials, after checking her details, notified the Dundigal police. The police then arrived at the airport and apprehended her. She was taken to the police station for questioning and, as per protocol, will undergo medical examinations before being presented in court for judicial remand.
