Man Arrested for Carrying Sword in Hyderabad

A 30-year-old man, identified as G Ajay Kumar, was arrested in Chatrinaka, Hyderabad, for illegally carrying a sword. The Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone team, along with Chatrinaka police, apprehended him. Ajay, who works as a cashier, was booked under Section 25 (1) (B) of the Arms Act, 1959.

According to the police, Ajay was found wandering suspiciously with a sword (talwar) hidden inside a cardboard box. Carrying such weapons is prohibited under the Arms Act. Police revealed that Ajay had purchased the sword online three months ago for Rs. 1,600. He reportedly used it to cut cakes at birthday parties and other celebrations.

Ajay had also shared photos of himself with the sword on his social media accounts. Acting on a tip-off, the Task Force and Chatrinaka police apprehended him and confiscated the weapon. The seized material was handed over to Chatrinaka police for further investigation and legal action.
