    Hyderabad Police Arrest Five in Bike Theft Cases

    The Hyderabad city police have arrested five individuals, including two minors categorized as Children in Conflict with Law (CCL), for their involvement in two separate bike theft cases. These incidents were reported in the east zone of the Hyderabad Commissionerate. Police recovered nine stolen bikes valued at Rs 9 lakh from the suspects.

    First Case: Theft at Gandhi Hospital

    In the first case, the Chilkalguda police apprehended three adults identified as Addakula Vijay Kumar (alias Venkat), Vijay (44), and Alakunta Akshay (19), along with a receiver of stolen goods, Abdul Sattar (35). All four are residents of Tukaramgate, Secunderabad.

    According to the police, Vijay and Akshay had prior criminal records. They targeted Gandhi Hospital in Chilkalguda and stole two bikes. After the theft, they sold one bike to Abdul Sattar, while the second bike remained with Vijay. The police caught the suspects at Chilkalguda X roads and recovered the stolen bikes. Abdul Sattar was also arrested for purchasing the stolen vehicle.

    Second Case: Seven Bikes Stolen by a Gang

    In the second case, police nabbed Pastam Vamshi Teja (alias Nagula Banda, 21), along with two minors (CCLs). Teja has a prior criminal record and was previously booked under the NDPS Act. He is originally from Bholakpur but later moved to Falaknuma with his family. Using his knowledge of lock mechanisms, he planned and executed bike thefts with a false key.

    Teja, along with his brother-in-law (CCL-2) and friends, stole seven bikes from areas like Chilkalguda, Boduppal, Medipally, and Uppal. The police arrested Teja and the two minors at Sitafalmandi X roads and recovered all seven stolen bikes, worth Rs 8 lakh. Officials revealed that Teja recently formed a new gang to engage in various criminal activities across the Tri-Commissionerate.

    The police have urged citizens to take precautions to secure their vehicles and report any suspicious activity to help curb bike thefts in the city.
