Hyderabad: On Sunday, 134 police vehicles in Hyderabad had their identification changed from ‘TS’ to ‘TG’. This change came after a new directive from the state police.
CV Anand, the Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, instructed that all Telangana State Police vehicles should replace ‘TS’ stickers with ‘Telangana Police’ stickers displaying ‘TG’. This followed the state government’s order to update the state’s identification code.
The City Armed Reserve (CAR) headquarters organized the removal of ‘TS’ stickers from 188 government vehicles. This project, costing about Rs 1.6 crore, began with 134 vehicles updated on Sunday. The rest, including Traffic ACP, Inspector, Pilot, and Interceptor vehicles, will be updated soon.
In addition to new stickers, vehicles received a machine polish. Necessary repairs like denting and painting of bumpers, doors, and panels were also done to keep the vehicles in good condition. CAR Headquarters officials provided guidelines to drivers on maintaining vehicle cleanliness and upkeep.
