Hyderabad police prepare for Ganesh idol immersion

GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan and Police Commissioner CV Anand are making sure the Mahanimajjanam is both smooth and safe. They checked the Nimajjana Shobha Yatra route on Wednesday. District Collector Dasari Harichandana, Rachakonda Commissioner Sudheer Babu, and Hyderabad Commissioner AV Ranganath joined them.

The officials first visited Balapur Ganesha. Utsav Samiti Chairman Niranjan Reddy and other committee members greeted them. The Shobha Yatra will start at Balapur and head to Hussain Sagar for the immersion. It will pass through Charminar Circle, Mojamjahi Market, and Telugu Talli Bridge. Key topics discussed included sanitation, power, traffic, and security.

Commissioner CV Anand highlighted the strong security plans, with 30,000 police officers on duty. The GHMC noted in their Wednesday report that by September 2, a total of 121,905 idols had been immersed. Kukatpally zone saw the most immersions, over 41,000, with Serilingampally following at more than 21,000. The Charminar zone had the fewest, with 6,254 idols immersed.
