Hyderabad has secured the sixth position among India’s wealthiest cities with a total wealth of ₹6.23 lakh crore, according to recent economic data. The city continues to establish itself as a major economic hub in southern India, trailing behind established metropolitan centers while maintaining steady growth in various sectors including information technology, pharmaceuticals, and real estate.
Mumbai retains its position as India’s richest city with an impressive wealth of ₹25.73 lakh crore, followed closely by Delhi NCR at ₹24.37 lakh crore. The financial capital’s dominance reflects its status as the country’s commercial and financial nerve center, housing the headquarters of numerous corporations, financial institutions, and stock exchanges.
Kolkata stands at the third position with ₹12.45 lakh crore, while Bengaluru, known as India’s Silicon Valley, holds the fourth spot with ₹10.9 lakh crore. Chennai rounds out the top five with a total wealth of ₹9.5 lakh crore, showcasing the strong economic performance of southern Indian cities.
Following Hyderabad in the rankings, Pune occupies the seventh position with ₹5.80 lakh crore, closely followed by Ahmedabad at ₹5.70 lakh crore. The relatively small gap between these cities indicates competitive economic development across multiple urban centers in India.
Surat, known for its diamond and textile industries, ranks ninth with a total wealth of ₹5.00 lakh crore. The city has emerged as an important commercial center in Gujarat, contributing significantly to the state’s economic output through its thriving trading and manufacturing sectors.
Visakhapatnam completes the top ten list with ₹4.00 lakh crore, representing the port city’s growing economic importance in Andhra Pradesh. The city serves as a major hub for steel production, petroleum refining, and maritime trade, supporting its position among India’s wealthiest urban centers.
